kairos

Kairos is a video work structured through shifts of distance and duration.
The material consists of short video sequences of trees, recorded from varying distances.
Movement remains continuous in the flickering of leaves and branches.
The work operates through abrupt cuts between proximity and distance, repeatedly reorganizing the viewer’s position in relation to the image.
At its center, this sequence opens into a prolonged temporal threshold:
slowed down, softened, and held in continuity.
Through slight deceleration and subtle shifts in color temperature, the image moves toward abstraction, appearing less as spatial depth than as a flickering surface.
Breath enters the sound structure as a reduced but persistent rhythm, becoming continuous in this central passage.
Kairos constructs a suspended moment within continuous movement —
a temporal condensation in which perception shifts from image to surface, and duration becomes momentarily tangible.
