The work begins with slides of art historical images.
Each image is submitted to Google Image Search and paired with its algorithmic match.

Both images are transferred to slides and projected in parallel.

The pairs appear related, but do not coincide.
Their relation is not based on meaning, but on visual similarity produced by algorithmic recognition.

Historical images enter into relation with images retrieved through machine vision.
Projected side by side, they expose the distance within similarity.

The work shifts image perception from interpretation to comparison.
