Installation in public space, Neuwerder, Havelland, 2025

23 flags along the village path
80 × 180 cm each, polyester fabric, thermal sublimation printing

The fabric is later processed into an edition.

Along Kastanienweg in Neuwerder, a sequence of flags forms a distributed image in public space.

Each flag combines a photographic fragment of its immediate surroundings with a coloured form extracted from the motif itself. The colour is isolated and reinserted in the exact contour of the object.

Fragments of a text by Gertrude Stein run through the sequence as a parallel structure. Image, colour and language remain distinct, but are held in relation.

The work extends the logic of SHIFT (2021) into open space:
perception is organised through fragments, repetition and displacement.

The work relates to SHIFT (2021), but shifts its logic into an open spatial structure.
Perception, language and abstraction are not aligned, but intersect.
